The Confederacy won the battle of Fort Sumter. The Union surrendered it to them because they had much lees men than the Confederacy. No one died, only few wounded because of misfire. There was only one major injury during the battle. The only reason there was no casualties during the battle is because the battle was very short. Most of the forts surrounding Fort Sumter were controlled by the Confederacy. Fort Sumter was the only major fort in Virginia that was controlled by the Union.
