The Battle of Fort Sumter
The Battle of Fort Sumter was a tragic battle. Not many were lost, but it fed into the anger that caused the Civil War. Only one Union soldier was killed in the battle. He died by a misfire in the evacuation at the surrender of the fort. Only three were wounded and one of them was mortally wounded. This battle was short. It only lasted for two days, April 12-14 1861. General Beauregard of the Confederate army demanded the surrender of Fort Sumter from the Union army. After two long days, the Union surrendered Fort Sumter to General Beauregard and the Confederate army.
